Pakistan cricket management dropped Muhammad Amir from the squad in recent series against Australia. Amir did not manage to take a single wicket in the last 9 matches.
According to ICC Captain of Pakistan team Sarfraz said “When your main attacking bowler is not taking wickets and seems out of form then definitely it worries the captain”
Muhammad Amir showed an excellent performance in last ICC Champions Trophy when he took multiple wickets in the starting overs. Since then Muhammad Amir is not able to take wickets consistently and been a constant worry for the Pakistani captain as well as the management.
Sarfraz Ahmad is really not sure if Muhammad Amir will be picked up in the ICC Worldcup squad. He said, “We will pick the top players and I too not sure about Amir but the team management decision will be loud and clear and the nation will know really soon.”
Pakistan will play their first game against West Indies starting from 31st of May. Pakistani team has a very busy schedule before the ICC world cup. Pakistan will play 5 ODIs against England and 1 T20 against the hosts. The series against Australia in UAE showed some very weak points of current squad says the Azhar, bowling coach of Pakistani team. I have faith in my bowlers and I think the batting line should be doing more in this regard. Bowlers are always able to push back but when there is nothing big on the scorecard then bowlers can only push back but can’t really defend that.
According to bowling coach, Muhammad Amir is an exception bowler and can take wickets in any format. Amir has been playing non-stop cricket since his arrival in the team but we have to focus on his fitness as well. If he is fit and bowling well then everyone knows he is wicket taking bowler and can do magic against any batting line.
Pakistan will soon announce the squad for ICC world cup and it will be interesting to watch if Muhammad Amir will be include or dropped.
